Fantastic videos on the novel below. memorise the quotes!
Video on themes and motifs in the novel - familiarise yourself with all of this if aiming for a higher grade:
There is NO SUBSTITUTE for reading the entire novel again, ideally more than once. You must be able to quickly locate sections of the book that you want to refer to or find quotations from.
Do NOT watch the film as an alternative to watching the book (and remember that it's not exactly the same in all places), but you can view it below to *help* with your revision:
AIMING FOR A*? THERE IS AN INCREDIBLE, FULL MARK RESPONSE ON THE 'AN INSPECTOR CALLS' PAGE (NEAR THE BOTTOM). IT BEGINS WITH A FULL MARK ANSWER TO AN INSPECTOR CALLS, BUT IS FOLLOWED BY A FULL MARK ANSWER ON TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD.
REVISING AT HOME
You should be re-reading the novel at home, and memorising key quotations. You also need to be able to really quickly find sections of the novel that you want to refer to and find quotes from in the exam. If you haven't already done so in class, create posters about characters, themes, and context, and add key quotes to them. Stick them up at home and revise from them as much as possible. |
